New Client Policy information

Office Location (Applicable only for in-person clients)

I678 Mass Ave is at the main intersection in Central Square, Cambridge, right at the corner where Western Ave and River Street converge to become Prospect Street.  The building is right by a Red Line (Central) entrance, and there are some metered parking places nearby, as well as two municipal lots at the corner of Pleasant and Green, and a larger garage at Green and Pearl in Central Square. The main entrance is on Mass Ave, between H&R Block and the Daily Table. Elevators are in the rear of the lobby. I’m on the 8th floor, across from the elevators. On the wall next to the suite door are several names, including Mark Davila and Jennifer Bortle. Come on in and have a seat.

Payment 

Clients wishing to utilize their health insurance to pay for services will be asked to supply insurance information in advance of the first meeting in order to verify eligibility and coverage. Any applicable insurance co-pays will be expected at the time of the appointment, and clients assume responsibility to pay for any services not covered by insurance. For clients paying out of pocket, my full fee of $135 is expected at the time of the appointment. Other arrangements may be possible with prior discussion. 

Lateness/Cancellation 

Please let me know with at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a previously scheduled appointment. If you’re running late for a scheduled appointment, please send word.. I’ll wait up to 15 minutes; after that, barring some exceptional circumstance, I’ll consider it a missed appointment. 

For appointments canceled within 24 hours (except in cases of sickness or emergency), clients will be charged $40. Full out of pocket fee of $135 will be expected in the case of a no-show without communication. Cancellations due to illness or other emergency are not charged. 

Crisis 

I may not be immediately available in the event of a crisis between scheduled sessions. If you are in the midst of a life-endangering crisis, please call 911 or go directly to your local emergency room. Also, Samaritans offer a 24-hour confidential “befriending” line; trained volunteers offer caring, confidential support at 617-247-0220. More information is at www.samaritanshope.org.
